DoNut seals

I have 2 1/2" ramshorns with Allen sidepipes. I saw in a catalog there are donut seals used for undercar pipes. Do they also use them for sidepipes? What are they used for? My sidepipes never had them when I bought my 65 coupe. Any information would be appreciated! Thanks

Ken, Are you talking about the Donut Gasket that would go between the exhaust manifold and sidepipe on both sides of the car?

Yes, but I think since I have Allen's, they are already tapered for the header flange so I don't need the seals?

Not exactly seeing what you have Ken it is hard for me to guess. All that I know is on C-2's and C-3's a donut is required with both regular exhaust or side pipes to mount to the original exhaust manifolds.

You may have a rounded end where your sidepipe connects not requiring a gasket in your situation. I have seen something similiar on other vehicles out there. On a my old Ford E-350 Van the Y-Pipe is set up that way. Never leaked.
