Ok, I have Vintage A/C and a Holley Idle solenoid that works fine with 12 Volts. Problem is I can't get the 12 volts from either the compressor or the blower switch that turns the A/C system on. Both only are putting out 10 volts at idle. I haven't checked any other electrical parts. Any ideas? I am a total idiot when it comes to electrical. But I can check voltage.
Ok, the fix I did in case it will help anyone in the future: I purchased a 30 amp relay, a 30 amp in-line fuse and wired the A/C blower switch to the relay. Then ran the 30 amp in-line fuse from the positive battery cable to the relay for a constant 12 volts. This sends 12 volts to the idle solenoid and keeps it open whenever the a/c is on. Works great and parts cost was about $15 for the relay and in-line fuse. ( yes, you need to run a ground wire to the relay also).
