Ok, I still don't care for the buckboard ride on my 65 coupe. Currently has a small block motor, VB&P 330# rear composite spring with Bilstein Sport shocks. I have tried the VB&P KYB special rear shocks and the Bilstein HDs but they were not as good as the Sports. It seems like too much bounce in the rear. Will QA-1 be adjustable enough to smooth out that bounce or is it just the way the rear spring is? All bushings front and rear are new poly. New front Moog stock springs. Might be I am already getting the best ride or maybe my seats need new springs and stuffing? Are there any rear coil-over setups that are good?
That’s a good question. I hope you get an answer because I would like to know a little more about the coil overs or QA-1 since I don’t know anything about them. As far as the shocks I recently had a problem with a dip in the road and discovered my shocks were bad I installed the Delco’s and so far I am very happy with the ride.
Ken, I can't complain about the ride in either of my Vette's. They both ride great. I still have the stock springs in both cars. The '73 has a set of Monroe Shocks on it and I can't tell you what is on the '67 as they are the same shocks that were on it when I purchased it. I have taken quite a few people in my '67 for a ride and they can't believe the decent ride it gives you. Unlike the early C-3's through '72 the '67 has rubber body mounts. I am not sure if yours does but I believe it does. My '69 and '72 had metal body mounts. Back in the day I lifted the body up and put '73 rubber mounts in after viewing an article in Hot Rod back then telling about the night and day difference it made. You know what. They were right.

Ken, I have no experience with composite aftermarket springs. I have heard good and bad about them. The bad was mostly about people braking them. I haven't read anything about them giving you a bad ride as this is news to me. I try to leave as much as possible on the car of what the General built the car with. Some of the aftermarket replacements parts people have come up with just don't make the grade or change other things around I have found out over the years. Maybe you should go back to factory original springs in your car if you want a better ride.

Ordered the QA1 shocks today. I will give them a try with 12 different settings, maybe there will be some improvement. Ordered from Summit so I know if they are not what I want I will be able to send them back. They love me as I have spent a bunch over the years on my hot rods. They always take stuff back for full refund less original shipping.
Ok, got the QA-1 rear shocks installed. After trying different soft and firm settings on the 12 adjustments, I found the middle or #6 to be just right. Just a little softer than the Bilstein Sports. But one thing I noticed right away, they can go from very soft to rock hard with the turn of a knob. And really easy to just reach the knob without going under the car unless you have really short arms!
