Geeeezzzz, looks like someone got caught with their pants down! The threads all got locked or removed. Did this forum member buy the moderator? Hope he exposed himself enough to be run out of business. Re-stamping a motor is one thing, stealing someone's VIN is outright fraud.
I haven't lost my CF privileges - yet - but I'll update here as well. Seems the gent in question published a nice picture book on how to tell a '53 from a '54/5. The car I know is a 2-owner car with title work back to at least the early 60s. There's more but I wanna keep quiet for now...

I also have one 54 with a reproduction vin tag due to buying the car without one because it had been lost. I bought this car from Texas and had the origianl title and vin stamped on the frame.
See Brett, via CTJackster I will answer my questions without hiding my identity.

Now that 53 #029 intrigues me...especially since I happen to know that #029 is a two-owner Corvette that has resided in Florida since the early 90s and is finally undergoing a restoration at a facility maybe two hours north of me.
So, Mr 1954corvair, I hope your reproduction Serial Number Plate and "proper paperwork" are better than this:
BTW, the links I copied above go to an apparently deleted thread; hence no linky-dinky!
Unbelievable but I believe anything anymore when it comes to these old cars. Another someone trying to get over. I went to the links listed above but apparently they are cut off already at CF, not my favorite forum.
Sebring if any of the members over at CF want to talk about this more send them a PM with a link to this thread over here and they can say what they want and not have to worry about the CF Mod Squad doing anything about it.

Ah, that's only a 3 day ban. I got 4 or 5 before being banned for life. Good Job! Sounds like you are on the right track. When you get banned for life, let me know and I'll get you re-instated if you like. Nope, I'm not a mod, just know a few of them and it helps me at times when I can't keep my mouth shut!
That's something I will keep in mind (after I tell the mods there to go pound salt!).
I was suspended for 3 days 3 different times by 3 different mods. The 4th was also a different mod who banned me for life. All bans were for rule violation and cry baby vendors. The final one was taking on a mod. I questioned the rule that got me suspended and was banned. Mods will protect each other to the max so if you take one on, you will be here VS there!
That ain't bad, 3 days for calling out a mod! They don't like that. You can PM them and give them a rash of **** but if you say something on the forum, big trouble! As you already know!
I say Phuck the CF Mods. They can all go to hell. They should rename that forum (The El Gestapo Corvette Forum.)

Ken, The blood pressure is fine. Just pisses me off when I hear this crap is still going on at the CF forum. Let me tell you something that forum should be very very happy to have a member like Sebringbill. I know Sebring he is one heck of a fellow and one heck of a Corvette owner. He's been a member at CF for a very long time, even before I joined that forum. He is true to his word. They should be happy that Sebring doesn't just tell them to piss up a rope in front of everyone on that forum.

Update: There no longer is a 1953 Corvette #029 titled in IN. There IS a 1953 Corvette #029 titled in FL - and it is scheduled to make a pre-restoration appearance at the FL Chapter NCRS show in Old Town in January!
