Happy New Years

For many of us 2010 hopefully will be a little more financially rewarding.biggrin

A tradition is that my brother and I go for a swim (outdoor type ) each New years eve .It looks like it'll be about 20 degrees with snow. I'll take a photo if I get a chance .

Well, I just was notified my pay will be cut almost 10% within the next 3 years and I haven't had a raise in 5 years because I am at the top of my salary range. I want to retire in 1 year and 2 months when I turn 62. BUT, not sure I want to with my stock and IRA as low as they are. Unless they come back up to where they were before, I want to continue to work. I was planning on working part time when I retire anyway but if the economy doesn't come back, I may need to continue full time for the benefits. Have a son and daughter I pay medical for. Costs me $1,000 every month just for them alone. Another $600 for me and my wife. The retirement future doesn't seem bright. Thank God I have a good retirement plan and the house is paid off! no

Retirement.......
Its not going to be easy.......if you don't get enough from all your income sources,
you're savings will disappear.....fast.
Working part time can cost you money.......and you're still paying taxes....

I lost my job when I turned 61......that was the end of that.....
I paid cash for my house......when the "I'll be with forever" said, "I pay for everything", that was the end of 24 years together.......

She got 3 houses and 2 new cars and she reluctantly gave me this house and one newer car........I went from $6000 a month to $784.00 on SS...

I  spent a year homeless, while the ex was trying to decide just how much she could cheat me out of.......we werent married and I used her credit to buy real estate with.......my name wasn't on the paper......theres that TRUST thing again.

After 24 years you figgure that you can trust someone but it just isn't so.
For medical.......I have the VA.....no co pay.....I live below the Federal poverty level.
Its a 80 mile round trip to VA.......so I never go there.
I barely make it each month.......but its better than being homeless, family is great till you need them.....then it gets ugly.

I was in 4 unions........each one for less than 5 years.......no money there.

45 years of labor comes down to the poverty level..........
So if you don't have money coming in.......retirement is tough.....

Some people have a hard time with retirement........except for 0 money I don't I love it........never....ever had a good job.
