Okay guys....I know you are all manly men, but I have a book I wanna tell you about, and I hope one or some or all of you will feel compelled to read it.
I'll start off by saying, I'm an avid reader....always have been, always will be. When I was 11'ish, I asked my parents for a complete set of World Book Encyclopedias for Christmas...and I got them. I'd get a different one every night and would read whatever topic happened to be on the page I randomly chose. Mind you, this was before the internet, and those books were my window to the world. IMO, there's nothing more relaxing than a good book, a glass of wine and a view of the ocean to calm a raging soul.
I've never read a book that held my attention like this one.
On to the book:
It's called The Noticer, by Andy Andrews. It's not a very long book (I read it in a few hours), and I found it impossible to put down. I read it while sitting at traffic lights...while cooking dinner....whenever I had a few quite minutes.... ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Here's a blurb:

God Speedie I'd love to but I'm Sooooo ADD .I've only read two books cover to cover "Dick and Jane " and the other was "The early history of Nevis".After being on meds I decided to buy my first big boy book ."The life of Walt Disney".I think it consisted of 12,000 pages .But I figured if I could get past this book I could be a reader.I worshiped Walt as a true creator and artist .Anyway I've gotten to page 12 in a years time .

Does the local newspaper sports section count? That's about all I seem to have time for except weekends. I haven't read a book in 23 years. That would be just before my oldest child was born. I like reading too, but just can't seem to find the time. Igor Sanction was the last book I read so that tells ya how long ago.

Ya ,sports section .That has to be classified as fine literature .I like this already
I read books, everyday......2-3 a month... I read about anything and everything, except mags aimed at women......they treat women like fluff.....buy this get that, this will make you pretty, this will make you smart...
I'm lucky I have the time to read, and drink Rum......evertually the Rum wins out and the book goes back to sleep. I've been a reader since the 1st grade...by the time I was in the 5th grade I knew all the working parts of internal combustion engine and how they all worked together.
In school, I got mostly F's.......it was boring...and dangerous. I don't think that reading makes one smarter, its just drives back the edge of ignorance. My mind was born in overdrive and if I don't give it something to do it turns on me......
I've been holding a bull by the tail for as long as I can remember, can't let it go or I might get the horns...
Ever try to argue with someone who doesn't read?????????Impossible....... But reading is not the only to gather information......."Where did you get your information"?

Geezzzzzzz, I thought for sure the SPORTS section was significant
It is significant...as long as there is a good hockey section!
I don't read as much as I would like...too much time on this damn interweb...
I love the Dan Brown books, I have another one waiting for me once I finish a book called "A man named Peter"...it was a gag gift from some friends at work...but its about Peter Mashall, the reverend of the U S Senate during the 40's and 50's...its kind of a slow read but very interesting.
I've read about 3 books since I moved into my new house in December...not too bad for me...I've also read 6 months worth of Hot Rod, Field and Stream and Sports Illistrated in that time...do those count?

REALLY?!?!? You read it? Now do you understand why I called you Jones and why I thought about you while I was reading it?
Okay. I'll take your challenge. Pick a book. Any book....with the exception of Stephen King, please. I can't read his stuff...he scares the living beejeezus out of me.
I have a 2-week vacation coming up in 33 days, and I only have 3 books to take: one of those being Gone With The Wind. I've seen the movie, but I've never read the book.
I'm gonna lose my Southern Woman card if I don't get it read and SOON!
I'm anxious to know what you're gonna have me read.

He's a good ol boy from the Carolina's. He was a US Army assain he ran black op's for the Army moving weapons around the world. One day he at home in Aiken and when on the phone lighting hit the under ground phone cable and melted his phone to his hand and killed him.
His wife revived him and called 911.........he died again in the ambulance........ He was DOA at the emergency.
After some 27 minutes of trying to revive him he pronounced dead and put in the hallway so the guys from the morque could take him.
His friend saw the sheet that was covering his head move.........he came back. Completely paralyzed all he could do was to blow in the sheet...
27 minutes.........of death and after a year, when could barely walk, and feed himself. He began to talk about all that happened to him during those 27 minutes of being dead.
He remembered it all the tunnel of light, the vail between life and death, his spirit gudies, the next world, all of it.......... He was sent back with a mission... Dr. Raymond Moody the author of "Life After Death" interviewed him and finally him came to realize that what had happened to him.
Its an excellent book that pretty explains it all.........its not a really big book a little bigger that "Jones", but completely different but at the same time is the same message.
