Yep ,when ever I'm in Atlanta ,the whole city turns dark and all the doors are locked .
Silly boy!!
Yeah, I was in Savannah, but it was just a 3-day weekend trip. Jim had a track event with the NASA folks at Roebling Road, and I just went along so I could get away from the BS at work and to relax a bit. We had a very nice weekend.
We stayed at the brand spankin' new Embassy Suites near downtown, and when I tell you it was gorgeous--fabulous--wonderful--luxurious....it's an understatement. The staff treats you like VIP's. They have a reallllly nice dining room where you can enjoy a typically Southern breakfast, to include most anything you can think of. There I sat....Saturday morning...in Savannah, Georgia, eating cheese grits and reading Gone with the Wind. (nope....I've never read it until now). Can it get any more Southern that that? I was in HEAVEN!!!
Oh yeah......because it's so new, the General Manager hosts a nightly reception. FREE DRINKS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! The margarita's were to die for!!! Not weak or lame, but the knock-your-panties-off kinda margaritas.
Vacation isn't until June 17 and I don't go back to work until July 6. We have a week at Virginia Beach and a track event at VIR, and another one at Charlotte Motor Speedway (a.k.a Lowe's Motor Speedway).
Ahhhhh..........life is good.

Hey Speedie...you talk to anyone special while you were in Savannah?
Hmmmmmm.....now that you mention it...someone I like a lot got in touch with me. I gotta admit, it was a very pleasant surprise....not at all what I expected. It kinda caught me off guard.
