I can't believe how fast the past two weeks have flown by.
We spent the first 8 days at Virginia Beach. It was nice...not very relaxing, but nice nonetheless. Aside from the heat (100+ degrees every day) and the crowds ( too dang many people in one place!!), we had a good time. There were a couple of days that I spent reading and sleeping. THAT is my idea of a vacation.
From Virginia Beach, we went to VIR for the NCM track event (June 27-29). It was AWESOME!!!! My hubby is an instructor and I was there as a supportive wife and a volunteer at the NCM store. I met some wonderful people, and I'm SOOO looking forward to the same event next year.
From VIR, we went to Charlotte Motor Speedway for the NASA SE event. OMG! It was fantastic!!!!! I've had my Vette on the track at Atlanta Motor Speedway, but there was somethin' about being at Charlotte that made it even more exciting.
We drove home last night, and pulled in the driveway a little before midnight. My hubby decided it was time for me to learn how to drive the Tahoe while trailering the his Vette. Hoooleeecrap!!!! He said I did very well, but the muscles in my hands, forearms and shoulders are tellin' a different tale. I was a nervous wreck!!!
This morning we got up early and took my Vette to have new shoes put on her. Kumho's baby!!! They look great!
Two weeks, thats not a vacation thats a time out..........Ive been on vacation for 5 years and its still not long enough..........never liked working for someone, liked my job, just not the idiots running the Circus........... Kinda of like DC.......Love the country hate the blind leaders, so busy with filling thier pockets that they don't see that the cookie jar is empty...............
Welcome back also. Sounds like ya had some fun even with the hot weather and crowds. Always nice to get away regardless. And most of all, you came home safe and sound!
