Decided to buy a set of used 1988 Fiero seats and whacked off the headrests and cover them in leather to install in my 65 vette. Mr Mike Fiero seat covers were ordered and I actually did the installation. The leather covers were about 750 shipped, used seats were 130 shipped from a guy in Arizona, the plastic seat pieces for the recliner and spring cover another 50. total including everything about 1,000.

Nice job Ken. I did the same in covering the seats in my C-3 with leather seat covers a few years back. 10 times better looking then the factory vinyl ones that came with the car.Those seats should look great in your car. Post some pictures when you install them.

Not to hard to make adapters. I got some flat 1/8" thick, 3" wide, 3' long flat steel from either Home Depot or Lowe's. Made a cardboard template of the floor showing holes and area to mount. Then cut and drilled holes in the steel to match the template and mounted the Fiero tracks on the adapter plates. The bottom of the Fiero seats rubbed the floor a little which interfered with sliding back and forth so I did make small spacers to raise the rear just a little. They now will slide just fine. Ken I like the picture with all those Vise Grips in there. You never can have enough Vise Grips I say. I use them all the time.

Yep, I wanted to make sure everything was going to work out before ordering the seat covers. I even removed the stock seat and installed the Fiero seat with adapters to double check fit and test drove the car to make sure I wanted to finish the project.
