Vacation????

My wife has a ton of vacation time ,I might have both a little cash and a little time during January.I'm thinking Caribbean or Central America like Costa Rica .I'd like 7-10 days .I'll have to watch the cash a little .

Tell me how warm and sunny Michigan is in January  ---no exaggerations smile

If we can't afford a real vacation we may look at Washington DC ,San Antonio or Junkies hot tub resort .

Worse case scenario is getting a B&B in the ski area.

Yeah, it would be, you can help the crew of just watch, but with a tall ship never a dull moment.......pirates for a week. Theres nothing like your 1st day at sea when the wind fills the sails, and all is quite with just the wind doing its work.

A day spent with dogs, or the sea is a good day indeed.........
I don't have a wife they're to unhappy for me...spending money makes them happy till they get the bills and then they're unhappy again.

The difference between a woman and a dog is, the latter you stay out the happier your dog is to see you........

My good friend and his wife did the tall ship back when they were young and said it was by far the best vacation ever.

Man does that look great ,I'm going to check it out before I present this to my wife .It may also be over budget but my wife could work on the crew.

 Costa Rica.....
My last boss owned a condo there...his 1st trip there.
San Jose Costa Rica.
Gets off of the plane hails a cab.......gets to the hotel.....goes out with the wife to dinner comes back to the hotel and all of his and hers valuables are GONE.....

The big deal is they were after the "passports", on the black market they're worth thier wieght in gold.

So its thier first day in Costa Rica and no passports so they can't even leave.
The last boss spends the bulk of thier vacation looking for a "black market" passport......it wasn't cheap but it worked. Its a home business there, stealing passports and then creating a new one from them.

The cabbie tips the thieves about where to break in.....
Its a 3rd world crap plie, so be careful very careful.......keep your money and your passport with you.
Don't use your credit card in Costa Rica..

I won't have to worry about my valuables I always keep 'em in my under-shorts smile.I'll make sure I get a credit card on the black market when we get there.

Thanks for the advice

One of the major problems with going to Mexico or Central America is the economy. When the economy is bad here, its horrible there, a small rise in the cost of Tortillas can cause a riot. "All American's have money somewhere"...
San Jose sits facing a active volcano and once out of town, its jungle, with poor roads.
Stay on the coast or take a tour, with a guide.....
All they really want is your passport. The junk in your trunk will be fine.

A lot of "gringo's" are moving there.
If you were Canadian you could go to Cuba.......

I actually looked at going to Cuba a few years ago .At the time I could have gotten there by going via Canada .

As far as Costra Rica it looks like we're going to go with my brother and his wife so we're going as a hurd .
