We are staying home and cooking a Turkey Breast. Don't want to deal with the holiday traffic. Wishing everyone on the Forum a very Happy Thanksgiving.

20lb Free Turkey being cooked at my home courtesy of our local Supermarket for spending the required amount of money over time to qualify. Get one every year. I will be cooking it as usual in our Set It And Forget It Ron Popeil Rotisserie Oven. Daughter bringing new boyfriend over to Thanksgiving Diner otherwise it would of only been the 3 of us with me and my wife. My Fathers gone and my Mom is in a nursing home since 2007. Use to have them over for Thankgiving. Just doesn't seem right without them these days.

Happy Turkey Day to all on the forum.

Every year I usually cook the turkey with all the trimmings. But this year my wife wants to go out to dinner and meet with her sister and her siblings. So there will be 9 of us out for dinner. I'll have to drive about 160 miles round trip and it will be a nightmare with traffic but we haven't seen them for awhile so off we go!

What I use to like about Thanksgiving was with the cooking, and all of the Ex's family at the house, the house wasn't cold for a change
3 years ago on Thanksgiving I had just installed heat in the greenhouse that I built, sitting in my greenhouse with the heat on looking at all of hard work that I did on it, while her family was in the house having Thanksgiving dinner.
She came out of the house screaming at me for not being in the house with her family, and telling that I needed to leave.......
A 24 year relationship gone in minutes........
Yep, she got my greenhouse and had it torn down...it was all Redwood and hand built.
It was a work of art.

I've never seen or heard from her again......women, good boat anchors.

I feel for you. No one should be alone on the holidays although there are times I wanted to get away from everyone during the holidays. Not so bad at my place today as it was back years ago with my sisters side of the family over at my parents place including my family. Her son and daughter and wife and husband and grand children and just the 3 of us were a handful to deal with as far as I was concerned. Don't really miss that very much.
