Corvette Skip Shift Eliminator

Just installed a Corvette Skip Shift Eliminator this week onto the 6 Speed Manual Transmission on my C5 Coupe. Have to say what a difference. To those not aware of the situation GM installed a 1st to 4th gear set up computer controlled making it hard to shift into 2nd gear during a certain RPM the C5's computer considered appropriate for the shift from 1st to 4th in what some say is to save fuel a deal made with the Federal Government. I didn't like the set up and thought at first that maybe the linkage in the car was crappy. Well after doing some reading educating myself more to what makes the C5 tick I came up with this Skip Shift Eliminator. Best of all with shipping I purchased it on ebay for under $12. What a bargain I have to say. Took me all of a good 5 minutes to install it once up on my car lift. If you have a 6 speed manual transmission in your C5 or C6 I strongly recommend you installing one. I see that one of the Supporting Vendors on another Corvette Forum had them on sale for $27 plus shipping still not a bad deal for the little Skip Shift Harness from what I can see. Below is the link for the one costing just $11.80 including shipping. This is the one I purchased.

I installed one on my 03 when it had 7/10th of a mile on the odometer .It is a good investment in pure driving pleasure .

Not knowing anything about a C5 before my C5 purchase of last August 2010 I just thought the Factory 6 spd shifter on the C5 was a Mickey Mouse Shifter. Didn't read anything about the Skip Shift Eliminator until a few weeks ago. Still learning as I said about what makes the C5 tick. Far and removed from the C2 and C3 I own and only owned before August 8 of 2010.
