Just saw this post. I will check my 2011 Purolator Catalog to see if this is true. Doesn't make any sense to me. What year C6 was that. If I remember correctly you have a 2008. Let me know if I am right. In the mean time I will look the air filter up for a 2008 C6 to see what it says. Heck if it is true you may as well get a aftermarket one as many have changed them out on C5's and C6's. My C5 came with a Donaldson Blackwing Induction System.

C6 Corvette Air Filter Question

Ok I just found a 2010 Purolator Catalog in my office and Purolator does list a air filter for a 2008 C6 Corvette. Both V8 6.2L 376 Cu. and 7.1L 427 Cu. take the same Air Filter and Cabin Filter. The Purolator Air Filter is Part #A65821 and the Cabin Filter is # C25623. Hope your arsh feels better.

Moving this thread into the C6 section where it belongs. Hope no one minds but it really does belong there rather then in the Car Talk section.

 I have a 2005 LS2 and I purchased 2 new K&N filters for around $40 each.

The LS3 is different Ken .I'm going to a distributor where we buy our equipment oils and filters .I'm taking the numbers Fred gave me and a couple other options .Wouldn't it be exciting if I could buy one for $110 confuse

I look at it this way ,I have over 40,000 miles on the car so the C7's will be out before I need another .I'll let the next owner worry about it .

Are the filters different from the 6.0 and 6.2 motors?

The LS2 has a paper filter the LS3 has a foam .That said I haven't even looked at mine to see how dirty it is .I think I want to change it because it'll make me feel better smile .It's like changing my oil before it's due .I guess if it we're my truck I'd change the filter when it couldn't suck air anymore.

Maybe it is washable like a K&N type of filter being it is foam as you say.

Just buy a new car when the filter needs changing. That solves everything. Better yet, buy a new car every time the oil needs changing! rofl.gif

Actually my thought was that if I change the filter now I should be all set till the C7's are out.
