1970 Black on Black Monte Carlo

I have For Sale my 1970 Black on Black Monte Carlo. This car was restored some years ago from the ground up. The body on this car is as straight as an arrow and Black shows everything. Almost perfect. Doesn't get driven very much being that I have 2 Older Corvettes and my 34' Ford Coupe to drive so I decided to sell the Monte Carlo. Asking $18K or best reasonable offer for it. I have nearly $30k invested in this car. Any interest just PM forum member (ffas23). See pictures below:

Not knowing what these cars are worth, It sure is a nice looking car and no way could you restore one for $18K. Maybe $30K? I am not a fan of Monte Carlos but that is one cherry looking Chebby! jawdrop.gif

Ken, Not because it is my '70 Monte Carlo but this one is (Cherry) as it was a frame up restoration when done. You know as well as anyone that Black shows everything in the body more so then other colors. This car's body was blocked sanded many times and is as straight as an arrow, trust me. You could stand at the back of the car and look down either side and won't see any waves in the body. Try doing that to some others cars that people show. If you or anyone else finds me a buyer and gets me the $18k that I am asking for the car I will pay you in cash $500. The buyer must go through you when contacting me. All this car needs is a driver as it is a turn key car. I also have an extra gallon of the same paint that was used to paint this car that goes with the car when the sale is made.

Most people don't know what it takes to make a car look like that. That is a ton of hours in body work and blocking the car. Usually needs a skim coat to get all the ripples and imperfections out. The the gaps have to be addressed and they were not good to start with from the factory. Unless you have done restoration work, you have no clue what it takes. I do since I have done a few street rods and I am one of the anal guys that if I show a car, it will be the best of the best in body and paint. But that's my background and I learned from one the best. Unfortunately my best friend died a few years ago that taught me what perfection is VS the normal body shop work. Your car should sell if you can get a knowledgeable buyer to look at it. He will be able to tell the quality. Good luck, it will sell I am sure!

Sixty4, This car does look better then they came from the factory body wise and paint wise then in 1970. I know my family purchased one brand new in 1970. As far as the motor goes I'm not 100% sure if it is the original small block 350 since I purchased the car in the late 70's. It is the motor that I sent out to be done prior to doing any other restoration work on the car. What I did change when retoring the car was that I went with a GM electronic distributor the type used from 1975 on into the late 80's. This is the one where the coil sits in the top of the distributor cap. Great distributor that GM put out. Here are a few pictures of under the hood ,inside the trunk and interior. Its a little dusty looking under in the engine area being I don't drive this car very much and haven't had the time to do a little clean up there for the photo taken.
