I thought I would start a thread about Corvette Part Vendors here as to who are the good ones and who are the ones who have treated you badly on occasion. Please don't be afraid to say what you feel here on this forum. No one on this forum is going to bite your head off if you tell us a certain vendor you have delt with sucks. Lets hear it. You are free here to tell it like it is.

No problems with PARTS vendors yet, just Corvette Specialty Shops like "MSI" who is a Corvetteforum.com sponsor. They lie big time and make sure you never bend over or you may be in for a big surprise!
Let's see I have had good luck with some Corvette Vendors, Corvette America, Wilcox, Zip, Central Corvette and Virginia Vette Parts. That is all I can think of right now.
Long Island Corvette Supply and Diamondback Tire I will never recommend to anyone ever again for putting the screws to me so to say.
Lics has put it to many out there over the years as they get very nasty over the phone at times. For those who don't know of the problem I had with Lics I will discuss it on this forum for the first time. Going back maybe 5 years ago I ordered a brand new set of C-2 Side Exhaust from Lics. At the time they charged just under $2,000 for the set. They were out of stock of the exhaust pipes which they were going to ship me direct from their supplier. What they did first was send me out the Side Covers and Mounting Kit in the mean time. Both Side Covers arrived in Re-Taped boxes. I didn't think anything about it at first thinking that maybe Lics may have inspected them before they shipped them out to me. Well the first one that I took out of the box looked great. I had no problem with it but the second one had a factory defect or blemish that stood out like a sore thumb. Nothing that anyone who owns a C-2 would want to put on their car, TRUST ME! Well after seeing what I got from Lics I decided to give them a call to let them know of the factory defect. When reaching them I got to talk to a woman customer service person. When explaining my problem to her she jumped on me like a new suit actually blaming me for the problem that I found. I told her to calm down that I was looking for Lics to just send out a replacement for the defective side cover and to pick up the defective one.
Well I got the third degree as she told me she didn't need my business and that if I wanted another side cover sent out I would have to pay the shipping both ways on the new piece sent out and on the returned defective piece. Well you know what I told her. I said there was no way I would be responsible for paying for the shipping once again to return and have another sent out. She then told me again that she did not need my business and that she was just going to pick up the whole order from me. At that point I told her if that is the way she wanted it to be that would be fine pick up everything. Well a few days later UPS came to pick up the 2 side covers and mounting kit from me. The very next day I re-ordered the complete Side Exhuast system for a C-2 from Corvette America. A couple of days later I received everything I needed including the exhust pipes from CA. The Side Exhaust Covers even came in Sealed Boxes. I then inspected everything and everything was in perfect shape. I was now a happy customer. Corvette America to me now was the better Corvette Parts Vendor.
My take on this? To this day I feel that Lics (Long Island Corvette Supply) actually sent me out a returned set of Side Covers that maybe someone else already received and was not happy with as one cover had a factory defect. This may of been why the boxes on the Lics Side Covers were taped instead of factory sealed. From that day on I stopped doing business with Lics. This is my story that when listed in lesser detail on the Corvette Forum was deleted by the Moderators over there. Now you may ask why? The reason is over there they take money from the Vendors who advertise on that forum. Vendors who have had problems with customers don't want it to be known. Because that forum takes money from the Vendors that forum doesn't have its forum members best interest in mind. You know how it goes. You see and hear about similiar things going on in Washington everyday with the Lobbyist. They pay money to the Congressman and Senators to do their will in F__king the American Public. On top of all of this Lics tried to charge me $40.00 for shipping in my case. I explained the complete problem I had with Lics to my credit card company and they charged back the $40 to Lics as they made the decision that Lics was at fault here.
Wow! Glad I got this off my chest. Got to admit I am almost looking around as I almost feel like a MOD is going to jump out from somewhere to lock my post or delete it here. Too bad SAVEWAVE! Ain't happening over on this forum.

My problem with DiamondBack. This took place about 5 years ago before DiamondBack became a Supporting Vendor on the Corvette Forum. Searching the net I was looking for someone other then Coker who made a Redline in a 70 series tire when I came upon Diamond Back. I actually heard of them on a Pontiac forum back then. Anyway to make a look story as short as possible I contacted DiamondBack and told them what I was looking for. I left it up to them to pick out a nice Radial tire for me to Redline for my '67 Coupe. Well when I took delivery of the 4 tires that were wrapped real well the Redline on the outside of the one tired looked nice. I put them to the side and didn't install them until a month or two later. When installing the tires I notice on the inside of the wall of the tire these large White Letters that were Blackened over with with a dye or tire paint to try to hide the bulging letters. What I saw I really didn't like. I was going to call Diamond Back then but figured they would give me a hard time and try to charge me to send them back so I mounted them hoping no one would notice. Well wouldn't you know when taking my car to Cruises and Car Shows people for some reason like to bend down and look under your car. I can't tell you how many times I was asked where did I get these tires from and people pointing out the fact of those Large White Letters on the inside of my tires. I heard it many times. Now a couple of years ago DiamondBack came to the Corvette Forum to become a Supporting Vendor. They started a thread asking everyone who had already purchased DiamondBack tires in the past for some feedback. Well most of the fellows on the forum stated how well they liked their DiamondBack tires. I was probably the only one that mentioned how unhappy I was with my set explaining what the problem was as I did here. Right away other members wanted to know more and before you know it the Moderator (SaveWave) locked the thread and deleted most of what was written. You know those Gestapo type tactics you have already heard about. Savewave told me to take it to a PM to keep everyone else from knowing what was going on. Well I did that. I explained to the DB Representative that I had less then 500 miles on the tires and wanted to know if he could do anything for me. His only offer was to give me a measly 10% off of another set of 4 tires purchased from him. I told him no deal and that I would never recommend DiamondBack tires to anyone again.
