Removing rear end from 65 coupe...........easy?

I am swapping my 3.55 rear end for a 4.11 next month. I usually have my mechanic do this stuff since I have a bad back. But it looks fairly simple. I don't mind working laying on my back. Any good tricks to removing and re-installing?

Ken, I did the job once on a '72 Coupe I owned back in the day. At the time I was much younger and someone gave me a hand. What I used was a full size floor jack and jack stands. What I remember was dropping the spare tire and spare tire housing taking all away from the car. Then dropping both the left and right side of the Spring down and unbolting the 4 bolts from the bottom of the carrier to take the Spring away.  I needed to take the rear out of my '72 because one of the ears was broken that held one of the 4 bolts that hold the Spring right under it. I needed to replace the back of the rear end with a new piece. Anyway next I disconnected the axles and strut rods. Before you do any of this make sure you disconnect the drive shaft. Hope I am not leaving anything out as I would need to be under my car to remember everything. Once the rear is totaly disconnected just drop down with your floor jack and pull out from the underside of the car.

Make sure you don't over tightened the 4 bolts holding the Spring to the bottom of the rear as you can break a ear off yourself if not careful.
