It's Christmas eve .The estimated temp in Bethlehem 2009 years ago was low 40's and clear Sky's .
Nancy and I go to Christmas eve service and Lizzie keeps her eye out for Santa's sleigh. It'll be clear cold night ,temp will be in the high 20's .Lots of stars.Lobster ,clams and wine for a late supper .
Tomorrow my two sons and three grand children show up.
Well, good for you Andy........ Same temps here..........can't wait for spring........I'm getting a new rifle a chrsitmas present from me.......E-bay.......
You should invite me........when I had a family everyone was warned not sit next to me. All I would do is to talk anything but family bullshizt........if you're going to put forth the effort to stop your breathing just to talk it might as well be something worth hearing especially if its "new information"..........I mean thats a pretty rare and exceptional occasion around family.
A friend's dad retired from the SCPD, he said that the worst fights that he ever broke up were on Christmas day when the family were all together and drinking........
He said that when he pulled up to the house, the family would be on the front lawn trying to kill each other..........to get thier attention he'd hit them with a flash lite......he broke a lot of those.
It costs money to go to church right.........haven't been inside of a church for 40 years. Last thing that I remembered about chruch was there was always "a building fund", and all the phonies, the Sunday Christian's sat in the front.......the year round Christian's sat from there back.......the ones in the way back didn't want to be there......
Merry Christmas to ya all.......... Me and my dogs are going to celebrate a warm fire and be thankful thats its just us and we lived another year.....

Sorry I'm late for the party (as usual). We left early Christmas Day for Virginia & D.C., and I haven't been online since then (we got home late last night).
We went to the midnight Christmas Eve service, and it was beautiful. Jim, Chris & I were asked to read from the Scripture, and together, we lit the Christ candle. It was as emotional as I expected it to be. My Mom was there in spirit... I felt her presence. I sang O'Holy Night (her favorite, and one she sang solo for as far back as I can remember). I'd never sang solo, and I'm not really sure how I got through it, but I did. I hope I made her proud.

HAVE A HAPPY NEW YEAR !! Dixie
Aw! Heck!! We were in Ashburn. I wish I'd known you were close by... I would've at least called to say hello.
We spent an afternoon in DC. I'd never been, and to see the White House, the Washington Monument, and the Capital for the first time was fantastic. We visited the Museum of Natural History and the Museum of America History. The most fascinating exhibit (to me) was Abe Lincoln: An Extraordinary Life. I was absolutely enthralled and could have spent all day there, at that particular exhibit. Unfortunately, my husbands 1-year-old grandson was sick and we had to cut the trip short. Dammit!
I got a close look at the Hope Diamond....I'd love to see it on my hand. .
I hope you had some quiet time to remember your parents and brother. I don't suspect the sadness of losing someone you love so much ever goes away...
Happy New Year, sweetie.

DC been there in the 60's. Its like a gaint OKC OK...........That is the Capital Bulding was fine marble, the desks that the clowns sit at to make our lives harder evrey year were the finest Honduron Mahagony.
The chairs where they sit are the best leathers avaiable, but all around the Capital area are some of the poorest people on the East Coast. The social contrast between those who govern and those who are governed is stark.
Those that are looked after by the ruling elite..........have nothing. While the rulers live in the lap of extremely luxury at the cost of the people.
Oaklahoma City is the about the same........the government buildings are of polished marble. While Oklahoma City is a dump.
Baltimore Maryland is the same way...........nothing but crime and poverty.
The Smithsonian was cool..........never forgot staring up at Lindbergs little plane. It was built very close to where I grew up in San Diego Ca.
I'd never go back to OKC or DC.........it was a once in a lifetime adventure.
But thats just my take on anything thats unfair and its never going to be positve for me. It would seem to me if the government took as good of care of "We the people", as it does itself this would a much better country for all.
