Corvette Enthusiast Magazine

I have subscribed to Corvette Enthusiast magazine for a number of years and enjoyed all their articles very much.

Two months ago, I received an Auto Enthusiast magazine along with a letter letting me know that from then on I would be receiving this new magazine instead of Corvette Enthusiast.

They decided to combine their Corvette, Mustang and Mopar Enthusiast magazines into one.  I figure I give it a shot but after reading the second Auto Enthusiast magazine I received, I called their Customer Service department and asked to have my subscription cancelled and to give a refund. Very little Vette stuff and many advertising pages.

I told them that I wanted to read and be informed about Corvettes, not Mustangs or Mopar. I just renewed my subscription three months ago. They should have told me then that Corvette Enthusiast magazine would no longer exist.

Well, guess what. They will happily cancel my subscription but will not give me a refund.
I told them that they were sending me a magazine that I had not ordered. I asked for a manager and she said the same thing.  This is amazing.

First I look at it as a scam and unethical of the magazine.

Second Corvette magazines are slowly dieing off ,Forums are giving a lot of information that wasn't available 10 yrs ago.

Don't you mean Corvette Fever? Even the 2nd owner would receive that magazine from GM I remember as I received it during the very early 70's on a '69 Coupe I purchased at 2 years old at the time. Believe it or not I still have all the issues sent to me from back then. Might be worth something someday.

Nope I purchased my '69 Big Block 427-435hp Coupe from a Private person for cash. If I remember correctly there was something listed in the owners manual that I needed to fill out and mail into GM being I was the 2nd owner of the car now. Bought the '69 in '71 two years old for $3100.00 I remember. Had only 11,000 miles on the car when I took it over.

Funny how life works. You pay that much or more for a crate motor today plus installation. The cars were cheap back then but nobody had any money !!

Ya know I worked for a guy who bought a 69 cpe 427 4 speed and he asked me to check it out as he thought that it wasn't running right, when I out my foot in it the front end lifted so high that could'nt see over the hood.
But I never liked the 427.......409 yes but the 427 no.......all of my Corvettes were small blocks.
I never got beat by a big block.......

Let me tell you Redwing that '69 427-435hp Corvette was the fastest car I ever drove. When that Tri-Power kicked in you felt like you just got shot out of a Canon. The '69 Coupe didn't have mechanical linkage from the factory but a vacuum linkage. You mainly drove around just on the center 2 barrel. The other 2 carburators didn't kick in until you were somewhere over 5000 RPMS. A trick back then was to shorten the diaphram springs in the 3 carbs so that they would kick in a little quicker. I took many people for the ride of their lives in that car. Highway Rt.287 in our area of N.J. was still pretty new back then. I use to cruise it at about 80 miles an hour and then punch it. At that point you felt like you were being shot out of a canon for the brut power that 427 put out when all 3 Carbs kicked in. I still have friends who talk about that car to me to this day who remember the ride up on Rt.287 when they run into me. When you hear people speak about not being able to touch the dash on some fast cars I couldn't describe it any different because that was how it was period.

Short Story. Back in the day when getting on to Rt.287 a '69 Camaro I remember the color white with orange stripes was playing with me on the highway. Well as I said the '69 Corvette above would cruise on the 2 barrel. That Camaro stayed right up with me until I hit that certain RPM when the other 2 Carbs kicked in when I left the Camaro in the dust. The next turn off a couple of miles down I met the Camaro under the Rt.287 bridge. He pulled over next to me and we had a chat. He was amazed at what just happened. He repeated to me exactly what I saw that he was staying with me until all of a sudden I got this burst of power and left him just about standing. I guess the only way to describe it today would be like a regular car getting a shot of Nitrous all of a sudden when racing because that is how it felt to me in todays terms.
