Any shock absorber experts here? (not for a Corvette)

I am thinking of replacing the shocks on my little 1978 Fiat 124 Spider. I want something a little stiffer than the OEM. Currently I have KYB GR-2 shocks on it but they seem very soft. I don't want to spend big bucks on Koni yellows and was thinking maybe Monroe OESpectrum. Suggestions?

I think you can check on tire rack for options and reviews .

Well, after much research, I ordered a set of 4 KYB GR-2 shocks for the Fiat. Seems 90% of the vendors recommend them over any other brand other than the expensive Koni Yellows which are 5 times the price.

KYB Shocks if I remember correctly came out in the later 80's to compete with Monroe and Gabriel shock absorbers. They are a imported line of shocks out of Japan back then and who knows where today. Not a bad shock. Plenty of Automotive Warehouses took them on because they were cheaper then the name brands already mentioned back in the day. Don't know if they still do but they use to have a lifetime warranty. Ken do me a favor and find out if they still do I am curious. Should be written on the box or in the paperwork included or your auto parts store should know. I have a set of 4 on my '90 Full Size Blazer that I use for snow plowing and 4 wheel drive capablities when needed in bad weather. Get around with this vehicle also once in a while to keep the battery charged.
