Did Anyone Feel The Earthquake That Hit Virginia?

I was sitting at my computer Tuesday afternoon just before 2 pm when all of a sudden my office chair seemed to be vibrating. We have some cats as pets in the house and I thought that maybe one of them was climbing onto the back of my chair or something but turned around and no cat. I then spun back around to the computer and noticed my Computer Monitor shaking. I put my hand on top of it to steady it and let go and still wobbling. I knew at that point what I was feeling was an Earthquake although in my 60 years on this earth I never experience an Earthquake before being I live in N.J. where we don't see many. I thought at that point I better turn the TV on to see if anything was being reported but the regular N.Y. channels had their afternoon shows going on so I switched to Fox Cable news and sure enough they were right on top of things telling about the Earthquate that just hit Virginia.  Right away I thought of forum member Mr. Muffler who lives in Virginia. Tried to call his landline being it is the only phone number I have to reach him but couldn't reach him early on in the afternoon. I was getting a little worried to be honest with everyone. A 5.8 Magitude Quake is a pretty large Quake and from what they were saying on the news that there was one of the same 5.8 or 5.9 Magnitude Quake recently that killed a bunch of people somewhere.  He finally answered my message I left on his answering machine telling me everything was good with him and his wife Shirley Tuesday night.

Dixie hasn't been around here on the forum because he has been busy restoring his '62 Chevy Impala. He is just about done with it. I will have to remind him to stop by here again with a PM from this forum.

I've been in two major quakes, 1971 Sylmar Quake 6.6,  Loma Preita Quake 6.9.. A 6.6 is a  big quake but a 6.9 is ten times bigger.
Alaska 1964 was a 9.0 if you like Volcanoes, Sunamis, Earthquakes, move to the West Coast.

We felt it in Atlanta...well, my husband did. I was too busy at work taking care of patients to notice. I wasn't aware of anything out of the ordinary.hmm

I'm really glad to hear Mr&MrsMuffler are safe.

I didn't feel a thing here in Rocklin.laughing.gif

But living in California all my life I am use to them. You get kind of numb to them unless they are really big. The ones that give that rolling sensation are bad, make you nauseous.
