Time to plan

Last night it got down to 50 degrees and it sucks knowing winter isn't that far off .

I'm going to start my semi annual maintenance .Vacuum the radiator

                                                                    remove wheels and clean /wax

                                                                    detail the inside

                                                                    fresh brake fluid

                                                                    new Mobil 1

5 coats of ice paste wax

                                                                    check and fluids /air/belts

Make my winter reservations for Conway self storage next to the airport.Late Oct I'll hit the tail of the dragon with some friends .Stop and get a home cooked meal with Speedie and Jim (probably Cracker Barrel).Stops at all the Golden Corrals on the 1400 mile two day trip .

I'll probably take one week off per month and be in Florida .There is a Florida Forum and I'll hit a few shows ,Key west and a few cruise nights .

I can get direct 3 hour flights for less than $200 RT and I can be a free spirit.Surprisingly I found three neighbors at the facility that do just about the same thing .Oh and the nice Cuban lady in unit 310 makes a great breakfast .

I don't know how anyone lives where you have to put your car in storage. I hate the cold. Sometimes it gets as low as 25 degrees here but not very often. Rarely snows and when it does it melts in a couple of hours. no

Well Ken my family roots are both in Maine and Florida .I was raised in Northern Maine because there we're no blacks and my Grandfather was a key member of the KKK .

All I hear from now till spring is about people putting their cars into storage ,battery tenders etc .Frig that .I bought my car to cruise and thats what I do ,all 12 months .It's not as good as where you are but it's manageable smile By the way I'm single for 14 months ,the wife is working in Beijing so I'm a free sprite for awhile .If by any chance you or others are in Florida I'm always willing to tour Key West .

Might come visit ya some day. Would love to do the route 66 in the vert and end up in Florida. Only problem is the trunk of the vert doesn't hold much and with the stereo equipment also back there it's pretty bad. Maybe I could leave the wife at home! laughing.gif

edit, I typed route 44 instead of 66. What a dumb azz!

I know about the lack of space with the C6 vert .It's one of the faults we learn to live with .When I take all my stuff to Florida I have to do it scientific .I pack behind the seats and passenger seat first (no wife ).I pack the small trunk compartments .The most interesting that I learned was the you can put the top partly down and ya can put a lot of soft stuff on top of the skirt that covers the power top .Then I pack the trunk.

When I fly back and forth on weekend my only carry on is my lap top bag.I do all my laundry at the hotel I stay at ($50 night) .I pack my belongings into plastic tubs and store them in my storage unit .

At times it's convenient to leave the wife at home but right now I miss her ,thank God for Skype .smile

I've looked at alternatives to Orlando and the only other possibility is Vegas .Vegas has the option of direct flights but I have to drive to Boston or Manchester NH.IF I ever get a C7 I might try that .Lots of great areas to travel to explore and see out west .I'd love to drive back along the northern routes in the early summer like North Dakota ,Montana etc.

I've driven some of it a long time ago say 1970's .Williams AZ is the memorabilia capital .The old TV series RT 66 is obtainable via NETFLIX .but it's terrible .No sex ,violence ,black and white .The first episode starts off in Mississippi .

I drink white Riesling but if Speedie was here she would say that she's not fussy smile

I drink reds, it's supposed to be good for the heart. At least that's my excuse to the wife!
