Barn find 55

Well sort off -----First I have not seen the car and I have no photos .

The car is a 55 vett in pretty good condition that the owner stored in his basement for the past 41 years .The basement was heated and very dry .Owner took it out last week and it started with a new battery ,he drove it for a couple miles and said everything worked except the clock.

YES it's for sale ,I know his price is well over $60,000

If you are interested or know someone I can get his email address for you/them

Not for nothing but how does one get a car in their basement? He should advertise it on this forum in the Corvette for sale section. Plenty come to view this forum not only from the USA but from other countries. Pictures make all the difference int he world when someone wants to sell something. Without them no one has any idea of what is being sold and most shy away. $60k is a lot of money today with the economy in shambles. Someone who could possibly be interested and who may live out of state or the country once again needs pictures to see what is being offered.

I agree with you completely .I'm sure he'll do just as you recommend .My only intent was to let people know this car is coming up before it reaches the open market and Ebay etc.

I did in fact get a call yesterday from a gentleman from down south who claims to be very interested and wants to see the car in person. His plan is to fly up shortly but said he'd like to talk with the owner first .I'll forward the sellers phone number tomorrow .

As far as the car being in the basement ,a lot of people up here have drive in basements .According to the owner the basement is dry and heated ,the car sat on plywood and a vapor barrier .He claims there is no rust ,car was complete and in good condition when parked ,new spare correct engine ,aftermarket hard top ,boxes of parts new and used .

I'll be interested in seeing the car myself .

Sebring, I just sent a PM to "vett boy" as his email notification for PM's wasn't checked from what I could see. Hopefully he will get the PM and respond to you.

Sorry I haven't been around .GM Junkie has photos and info ,he has an interest .The problem is that junkie wants to come up and look at the car in person when I can spend some social time which I haven't had .Now that I 'm not being worked to death the owner is in the hospital but I don't think it's serious .I'm sure Junkie will share .
